Terms of Use
1. Agreement
Islamic Masterclass (the “Service”) is run by EPIC (Eden Prairie Islamic Center) and Mubeen Books (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of a school, you confirm that you are authorised to bind the school, and “you” includes the school.
2. Who may use the Service
Accounts are created by adults: a parent or guardian, or a person acting for a school. A child uses the Service only through a learner created for them by an adult, or through a student login an adult makes for them. If you create learners for children, you confirm that you are their parent or guardian, or that the school you act for has the permission it needs from their parents.
3. Accounts and security
You must give accurate information when you register and keep it current. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done under your account and under the student logins you create. Tell us at once if you believe an account has been used without permission. We may refuse, suspend or close an account as set out in section 11.
4. Parents, schools and students
Parents. A parent may add learners to their account within the limit of their plan, review everything a learner has done, and remove a learner or delete the account at any time. A parent is responsible for supervising a child's use of the Service.
Schools. A school may register families, create learners and student logins for its students, invite its staff, run classes and collect its fees through the Service. The school is responsible for having the authority and parental consent it needs to do so, for the accuracy of the records it enters, and for the conduct of its staff on the Service. Staff use the Service under these Terms and under the school's own rules.
Students. A student login may be made for a student who is at least six years old. It opens only the courses the student's classes teach and the student's own work. A younger child uses the Service with a parent, on the parent's login.
5. Plans, renewal and cancellation
A plan opens the lessons and quizzes, saves progress and scores and issues certificates. The catalogue of courses, chapters and lesson titles is free to browse without an account. There is no free trial; our refund policy stands in its place.
Plans are Individual, Family and School. Each is bought on Both tracks (Islamic & Arabic Studies and General Academics) or on One track; a plan on One track opens only that track's courses. The prices are those shown on the pricing page when you subscribe. To change a running plan or its track, write to info@islamicmasterclass.com. We may also grant a school or a family access without a plan; such access may be withdrawn by us at any time, and nothing is owed for it.
You are charged for the first period when you subscribe, and access opens once the payment is confirmed. The subscription then renews automatically at the then-current price for the same period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page; cancelling stops the next charge, and access continues to the end of the period already paid for. If a renewal payment fails, we may keep access open for a short time while we retry, and end it if payment is not made. Refunds are governed by our refund policy.
We may change plan prices. A new price applies only to periods after we have told you about it, and we will tell you before it takes effect.
6. Payments
Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. Your card or bank details are given to the payment processor directly and are not stored by us. We keep a reference to your payment method so that subscriptions can renew and, for school fees, so that charges can be made under the authorization you sign.
7. School fees
A school that uses the Service to run its registration sets its own registration fee, tuition and payment schedule under its own policy, which you read and sign on the Service. Those amounts are owed to the school, not to us. The school decides them, changes them under its policy, and decides any refund of them. Where a family authorises automatic payment, charges are made by the payment processor under the terms of that authorization, which the family may revoke on the Service. Disputes about a school's fees are between the family and the school.
8. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- share your account or password with anyone outside your household or school, or use another person's account;
- copy, download in bulk, distribute, republish, sell or make derivative works from the lessons, quizzes, questions or other content, except as the Service itself allows;
- attempt to access another family's, class's or school's information, or to circumvent any access control or learning rule;
- use automated tools to access the Service, extract its content or answer its quizzes;
- interfere with the Service's operation or security, or test its vulnerabilities without our written permission;
- post or send anything unlawful, abusive, hateful, sexual, threatening or otherwise unsuitable for a classroom, or anything that reveals another person's private information;
- use the Service for any commercial purpose other than a school's own teaching.
School plans are for the students of that school. A block of 30 seats means 30 students, not 30 at a time.
9. Your content
You and your learners keep ownership of what you write, record or hand in on the Service. You give us permission to store it, to display it to the people it is addressed to under the Privacy Policy, and to keep copies as needed to run the Service. You are responsible for what you and your learners post. Teachers and administrators may review, hide or remove any post, lock a discussion, and read any message, and we may remove content that breaks these Terms without notice. Report anything that concerns you to the teacher or the school first, and to us at info@islamicmasterclass.com.
10. Our content
The lessons, quizzes, questions, recordings, artwork, software and design of the Service belong to us or to those who license them to us, and are protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them through the Service for your own family's or school's learning while these Terms are in force. Some material is used under open licences that require attribution; where the page carries an attribution you must keep it. A class recording a school uploads remains the school's and is shown only to the students it is set for.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from your account page, or ask us to by writing to info@islamicmasterclass.com. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken, the Service has been misused, or a child's safety is at risk; where we can, we will tell you why first. We may also change, suspend or withdraw parts of the Service. What happens to information when an account ends is set out in the Privacy Policy.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided as it is and as it is available. We work to keep it accurate, available and secure, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, that any defect will be corrected, or that any learner will achieve any particular result. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Service; and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms. If a change matters, we will post it on the site with a new effective date and, where we can, tell you by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means the new Terms apply to you.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute is to be brought in the courts of that State.
