Grade 2 math
Before you start
- The child works alone. The Test Administrator can read a question aloud, or press Read to me. Reading is not what is being checked.
- Paper, fingers and counters are fine. A number line or hundred chart is not: some questions check whether those are still needed.
- The facts at the start are timed. Speed matters there and nowhere else.
- If the child does not know an answer, press I don’t know. Guessing makes the placement worse, not better.
- There are 71 questions, and a few more if the answers call for them. It can take 30 to 40 minutes; a short break between sections is fine, but do not close or refresh this page, or the answers are lost.
- Nothing is saved. The results appear on screen at the end, to read or print.
